I started out as a street juggler. No really, I did! Having graduated from University of Winnipeg I became a street performer, performing daring-do juggling acts that took me all over Europe from Paris to Strasbourg. I then went into commodities, which lead to my setting up of a successful gasoline components broking business in London. I also worked as a freelance financial journalist for the FT.
Then I read David Allen’s Getting Things Done and it changed my life forever. Today I am the founder of Europe’s largest GTD franchise and author of the updated methodology for the modern age.
Away from work I enjoy a demanding fitness regime, disappearing into the wilderness with a group of good friends and a canoe, training my dogs and spending quality time with my partner, Paula.
GTD changed my life. But GTD needed updating. We are experiencing an epidemic of burnout and exhaustion, and part of the problem is that people think that the reason they are overwhelmed is that they not working hard enough or are doing something wrong. We think that many of the problems that individuals are facing are traceable to the poor setup of the structure in which they are working. Sorting out that structure will unleash a ton of energy and focus on a team and reduce the stress levels of those who work on it.
So Dave Allen, who invented GTD methodology, and I got together and wrote a new system for the modern age!
